Most of the public’s attention on reducing greenhouse gas emissions has been on challenges associated with expanding solar and wind generation as sources of electricity and using renewable electricity to replace fossil fuels. This webinar focuses on the practical challenges of building conversion to electricity. Replacing gas-fired heaters and appliances that inefficiently use electricity with heat pumps, for example, is an expensive proposition for retrofitting buildings. Conversion to electricity also runs into consumer cost problems in states with high electricity prices. This webinar will explore realistic strategies for gradually converting the nation’s building stock to electricity.
